What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Using Depo Shot?

I got a medical abortion done almost 3-4 weeks ago on sept 19th, I ve been having unprotected sex the week after the abortion. I went back for a check up at the clinic October 3rd and the abortion was successful and I got my Depo shot that same day. I took a pregnancy test two days ago and it shows positive with a faint line. Could I be pregnant again?

Pregnancy test may remain positive for quite sometime after an abortion or a delivery as the hormone levels subside gradually. Ovulation can return as early as two weeks after an abortion and hence, it is essential that precautions are taken early on before initiating intercourse once again. In the current scenario, you need to get a trans-vaginal sonogram along with a blood test for pregnancy since you have been having unprotected intercourse soon after the abortion before you had the depo shot. Further management can be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
