What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Post Unprotected Sex Despite Being On Cerazette?

Hi, Ive been taking cerazette birth control for the past 2 and a half weeks. I missed 2 pills, Friday and Saturday, then took one again Sunday and again Monday. I had unprotected sex Monday and Tuesday morning, and can't take my Tuesday pill because I'm out of the house and can't get to it, what are the chances that I could fall pregnant? If you miss a couple of pills are they completely ineffective for 7 days or does it just lower the effectiveness?

Hello there,
I understand your concern. It is always advisable to carry your contraceptive pill in your purse, so that you never miss a dose. Missing one pill rarely is ok, but missing pills on 2 -3 occasions is not right. It does not make it completely ineffective but it does lower the effect. In fact when you knew you had missed a pill you should have used protection in your act. In this era of sexually transmitted diseases it is ideal to use a condom (Of course if you know your partner/husband well then that is a different story). Henceforth if you miss a pill take it the next day along with that day's pill, carry the pill with you and use protection if you have missed more than 2 pills.
