What Are The Chances Of Survival After Relapse Of Endocarditis?

My 28 year old son was treated for endocarditis a year ago. I/V vacomycin for many weeks. He is currently in the hospital with symptoms of a relapse, and undergoing I/V antibiotics as I write this. We were told his chances of survival were not great the first time around, but he pulled through. How much less are his chances of surviving a relapse ?

Hello,

The survival rate depend on the specific parameters he actually has so I can't give an exact percentage of it. I believe he will have good chance of survival and lifespan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
