What Are The Consequences Of Having High Levels Of Serum Bilirubin?

i have serum bilirubin 1.49 just now. It has always been high upto 1.2 for more than 40 years. iam 69 yrs old.hypertensivw and gone through open heart surgery for bypass ..slight stomach upset..no diabetes ..is there any medicine and what are the consequences of high level of s.bilrubin

There may be slight variation in normal levels from one lab to the next but in many places the normal range of bilirubin is 0.3 to 1.9.

This means that your value is within normal range using these limits.

You may want to review the limits at your lab to see the upper range.

High bilirubin is an indicator of liver disease, gallbladder disease or blood disease with break down of red blood cells
