What Are The Distinctive Blue Veins In My Limbs And Chest?

I recently started having veins in my legs, arms, and chest becoming extremely blue and visible. This has developed over the past three months. THe only thing that is different about me is I aquired HSV-1 and was taking antiviral medication. I also have heart pain and pain in the new-ly visible veins. What could this be?

Large superficial veins under the skin in the legs may be due to varicose veins. They can be associated with swelling and pain or heaviness. The only way to know for sure is to have a vascular surgeon look at your legs and to obtain an ultrasound of the leg veins. If there is reflux, or pooling of the blood in your legs, this can be treated and most of the varicose veins can resolve.
