He is in denial that he is causing any damage even though he was told by his doctors over a year ago that his liver did show signs of damage. Well, alcohol is the first cause of liver cirrhosis in western world, but thak God not all heavy drinkers develop cirrhosis. Anyway there are many presentation possibilities of this disease. It can stay for many years as a compensated disease and so without signs but can come with the decompessation signs like ascites, upper hemorrhagia, cutaneous signs as angiomas that are eritematous zones in the thoracic region, but please don't live with the waiting fear and try to convince your husband to give up drinking. It would be great.
