What Are The Effects Of A Broken Nexplanon Implant?
I think i broke my nexplanon. I ve had it for a year 3 months after getting i started having problems with it. Not even 4 months after getting it i get legendary pregnant. In the last few months it would move around if i scratch my arm it can be lifted up. While scratching my arm the other day the rod bent. After that whenever pressure is applied to it there s a popping that can t be felt. I keep being told that everything is fine however my dr hasn t how even seen me about it. likely is it that it actually is broken.
If you feel that your Nexplanon implant is broken, you should get into contact with the provider or your doctor. A broken Nexplanon does not work, it will not be able to protect you from getting pregnant.
It has to be removed and it will require surgery. In the meantime, use a backup birth control method, such as condoms, until you have a new implant inserted. The broken implant should be removed as early as possible as it may cause complications like it may move under the skin or come out by itself. Get it removed at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
