What Are The Effects Of Taking Peroxide Douche During Pregnancy?

I recently seen the start of what I believe to be bv in the middle of May. I researched online some natural remedies to cure it. Between May 27th and may 30th I used the 50/50 mix of half water and 3% hydrogen peroxide. It seemed to have worked so I stopped. June 11th while having intercourse those fishy smell returned. So the 13th and the 14th I used the solution again but this time only once a day with only a third of peroxide of the douche bottle. June 15th I found out I was a little over 4weeks pregnant. I went to the first prenatal visit June 18th. Because I knew of the bv issue. The doctor examined me as well as a vaginal sonogram. He believed that I had bv as well and prescribed a vaginal cream for 7 days. My question is will the use of the peroxide douche cause any birth defects or harmed my baby?

I understand your concern.
The birth defects are mostly caused by viral infections/ certain medicines taken by mother. Hydrogen peroxide in diluted form is unlikely to cause local effect on vaginal wall. So it is not likely to cause birth defect in baby.
* Please note, no douche is advised in pregnancy, as it may cause infection in vagina. The fishy smell & discharge were washed out & so you found it to be useful.
- vaginal discharge is increased to some extent in pregnancy. it is clear ,& symptomless. In case there is itching/burning/ foul smelling- doctors advise & proper treatment is better option.
