What Are The Effects Of Using Betnovate Cream For A Long Time?

Dr. I use betnovate N from many years it didn't reaction on my skin ever my skin is oily and having lots of pimples.by using betnovate it become clear and fair.I have very sensitive skin.no cream or lotion suits me except betnovate.but my friend told me that it damage skin in long time uses.plz tell me what should I do.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain It is true that steroid based creams if used for long duration has harmful effects over the skin and can lead to thinning of skin, pigmentation, overgrowth of hairs on face, dilated veins under skin,itching etc..
As you are using it since long sudden stoppage can also cause sudden darkening and pigmentation of skin as well as rashes and burning sensation due to withdrawal symptoms.
I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can advise you proper tapering procedure to stop the use of Betnovate to prevent side effects of withdrawal..
You can be advised to use other anti-acne creams containing Benzoyl peroxide, clindamycin and also retinoids like Adapelene..
You can also use facewash containing Salicylic acid and glycolic acid..
Do cool compresses on face..
Maintain a proper face hygiene and also limit sun exposure..
Take a nutritious diet, avoid oily food and drink plenty of water..
