What Are The Findings In The Following MRI Report?

I had an MRI, Brain W/WO CONTRAST Explain these findings: No acute intracranial abnormality, Age-appropriate atrophy, No hydrocephalus, No mass effect, midline shift, acute evolving infarct, or hemorrhage. There is mild supratentorial white matter hyperintense FLAIR and T2 signal which is nonspecific but most commonly seen in chronic small vessel ischemic disease, No pathologic enhancement, Grossly appropriate central intracranial flow-voids, The paranasal sinuses are clear, Trace mastoid fluid bilaterally. ????

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

This report is grossly normal. There is no mass etc. Howe'ver there is small vessel ischemias which mean that there are very minor strokes (blood clots) in the past. Otherwise, MRI is normal.

We generally advise such people to use baby aspirin to avoid any major stroke besides optimum control of sugar, bp, and lipids if any. Howe'ver always seek your doctor advice before use of any medicine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
