What Are The Health Hazards Of Accidental Inhalation Of Burning Plastic Fumes?
Hello, i was cooking when i noticed a bad plastic like smell, and didn't really think much of it until afterwards i realised it was the paint/plastic that i had forgot to remove from the bottom of the pan that got stuck to it the other night when i accidentally place the hot pan on the window sill. I had the fan on whilst cooking and basically just wondering if i will be ok? What are the long term effects (will this have damaged any cells in my lungs)? If so, can they recover? Will it affect my athletic ability as i am a runner?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have accidental inhalation of burning plastic fumes which can cause allergic response/ reaction due to volatile bleach contents , which can be poisonous. As these fumes are volatile they can cause respiratory problem due to which your throat is burning along with nervous problem which breathing problems and pain in chest and throat. Burning sensation in eyes is because of contact infection due to volatile nature of fumes. I would suggest you to consult doctor for proper examination without any delay and rule out condition like poisoning. Doctor may prescribe anti emetic drug to exhale contents, anti histamine , steroid injection , analgesic. Ranitidine is effective for this. Use water based eye drops. For now take some fresh air and drink plenty of water and milk which will be helpful .
