What Are The Long Term Effects Of Removal Of Cyst In Ovary?

Uterus removed 2 years ago. At that time discovered a 7 cm cyst on right ovary. Had some severe pain in that area for several days, but it is gone. Dr. did ultrasound and said cyst still there same size. He suggested removing the cyst and the right ovary. What are the long term effects of this?

As you mentioned that you are having cyst measuring 7 cm and doctor want to remove it with ovary .
Ovary secretes estrogen hormone and it play vital role in female .
If describe in detail then it will be beyond the scope for this query .
Mainly estrogen secreted by granulosa cells of ovarian follicle, the corpus luteum and the placenta.
So when they will remove ovary , there will not be any secretion of estrogen .
Estrogen effects on female genitalia, effects on endocrine organs , effects on CNS, effects on breast.
Cysts are often caused by hormonal changes .
Sometime birth control pill take care of cysts , so please consult another gynecologist and take his opinion.
