What Are The Long Term Health Hazards Of Breathing In Carbon Dioxide?

Can long term problems occur when you are working in an area that uses co2. There are monitors in place and it seem that no high concentrations have been a problem. There are several people who have worked in this area for many years and have been diagnosis with some type of cancer.

Hi.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Usually, CO2 (carbon dioxide) in lower limits are not harmful to our body. But moderate to high level exposure for a long time may result in,
1. Nausea 2. headache 3. dizziness 4.Freezing of skin & blisters 5. Eye damage 6. heart disease 7. unconsciousness 8. even death (at extremely high levels)

But CO2 causing cancer is very rare. I suggest you to check on the chemicals that is been uses in your industry. Also to have periodic check up of your health status every 6months to 1year.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
