What Are The Long Term Side Effects Of Criz-m Syrup?

my daughter is 15 months old. since she was getting cold and caugh regularly doctor advised to use criz-m syrup for 2 to 3 moths. Now almost 3 months over. while using the syrup she was not frequently affected to cold and caugh. but whether it is advised to use the syrup so long. what is the side effect. please advise

Welcome to HCM,I understand your concerns.
It contains levocetrizin anti allergic,and monteulukast which is a mast cell stabilizer which controls allergic cells in the body.
For children it is most commonly prescribed drug.
Basically common cold is due to viral infection,which cures itself in 2-3 days or allergic.
Syrup will not cause much side effects ,but not advised to use frequently,it may decrease its efficacy by frequent use .
To avoid the use of syrup,you follow these...
Avoid exposure to cold,
Try to identify the common allergen which is causing the cold.
If baby gets cold do not directly this syrup from first day,at the start use steam inhalation,simple normal saline nose drops,if it is persists for 2/3 days ,try plane levocetrizine syrup.
Finally use this combination what you have ...
