What Are The Long Term Side Effects Of Tamoxifen?

I was diagnosed with estrogen positive, stage -0- breast cancer at 54 years of age. it was surgically removed 2-1/2 years ago. Nothing spread to the lymph nodes so i was fortunate. Zero history of breast cancer in my family. I did 30 rounds of radiation but no chemotherapy was recommended by my oncologist. I am 2 years clear. I have taken Tamoxifen and Gabapentin for 2 years, to block any estrogen and Gabapentin to help with hot flashes. I have been put on Venlafaxine to help with mood and hot flashes. I am post menopause since my full hysterectomy 8 years ago. My horrible side effects of the Tamoxifen are at the point that I have stopped that Rx as well as the gabapetin to see if after a couple of months that my hot flashes and life style have benefited in a positive way. Moving toTexas weather for the last 2 years from originally California made it tough for me with the humid, hot weather. However, i do feel like the hot flashes are lessening since i have stopped takin the 2 drugs, although they still persist but at a lower level. My question is that since I have passed the critical first 2 yrs of Tamoxifen and have had 2 clean 3-D breast mammograms, and I am post menopausal, would you consider the other rx that also blocks estrogen (begins with an E ) sorry, can t remember the name of the rx and keep me off of Tamoxifen? Also would you recommend me to see a breast oncologist who specializes in stage -0- breast and the side effects of taking Tamoxifen for 5 years after being post menopausal? I think the side effects may outlay the good if I have a choice since I was one of the lucky ones diagnosed with stage 0. Thanks you, Donna Tarpey YYYY@YYYY My 3-D mammogram of both breast came back clear in July. My problem is taking the Tamoxifen. My sleep is horrible which has put my on Ambient for several years and I cannot take the
