What Are The Possible Modes Of Transmission Of Hsv 1 Genital Herpes?

I was diagnosed with HSV- 1 genital herpes about two months ago. It was given to me through receiving oral sex, and I understand that if I were to receive oral sex I could put my partner at risk for getting oral HSV-1. I am confused as to whether or not I can pass the on through sharing drinks, kissing, or giving oral sex.

Thank you for query.Herpes simplex virus (HSV1 and 2) can spread by oral or kiss or by skin to skin contact or sexual route.The chances are more when there are active lesions.you have to take more precautions when active lesions are present to prevent transmission.You can get back for any clarifications.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist.
