What Are The Possible Treatments For Raoultella Platicola Infection?
Two weeks ago I had symptoms of slight pain when urinating but no burning. I had a urine culture done and it came back as a Raoultella Planticola Infection. I also started to leak urine but not a lot. I completed a 10 day course of Cipro and that really helped but I still have the leakage. Yesterday I had another culture done and It was clear. So why do I still have some leakage.
Roultella planticola was previously called Klebsiella planticola, it is a rod shaped bacteria which can cause urinary tract infections and is easily killed by Ciprofloxacin. You have been rightly treated for the infection and if symptoms have reduced you have responded to the therapy prescribed. Leakage of urine could be due to many causes which can be either damage to the urinary tract or infection. This needs further investigations to rule out causes of incontinence. I suggest you get in touch with a surgeon and get a detailed examination done. Thanks.
