My father is 91 and keep having spells of spiking blood pressure. When we get him to the hospital, his pressure seems to stabilize and all his vital signs, heart, sugar, etc are fine.. We have been through this 6 times with no diagnosis that has solved the problem. They are thinking now the swings may be caused by seizures and have him on keppra. Are there any other factors that can cause his symptoms. He becomes weak and disoriented, cannot hear anyone talking to him for a few seconds. The spells are of short duration and are usually over by the time we get him hospitalized.
