What Are The Preliminary Tests To Be Conducted Before CT Scan?
My mothers blood work reveals. Iron level 31, Hemoglobin 11.1 Hematocrit 32.7 ESR 91, CEA 3.7 (non smoker) has been suffering from possible gall bladder issues, lots of indigestion, taste has changed dramatically, nothing taste good, having night sweats. Scheduling a CT of her abdomen on Monday. I am in the health field. What else do you think we should be checking. Thanks
You need to get blood urea and serum creatinine tests done. This is to evaluate kidney function tests. In CT scan of abdomen we give a contrast injection in the veins. It is important to know that the kidney function is normal before doing the CT scan. Also if you have any allergy to medications then please tell the staff to take precautions and give a test dose of the contrast before the scan.
