What Are The Pros And Cons Of Prostate Removal?

What are the pros and cons of prostrate removal. I am 90 years in good health and had prostrate reduction by surgery about five years ago. A flesh sample was found non-cancerous so I stopped monitoring PSA numbers (given the slow growth of prostrate cancer) but earlier this year it was 9.41.

Welcome to my virtual clinic!

There is no harm of removing prostate. If there is no comorbidity, which stops you from choosing a surgical removal, you should go for the procedure. Usually if cancerous, you should better remove it. But again I will say, there are a lot more factors to se. Age, comorbidity, anesthesia complications, lung liver and kidney profiles etc etc just to list some. Your urologist or treating physician may decide in a better way after having a complete profile in view.

Hope it helps. Have a nice time ahead.

Regards!
