Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Reasons For Having Lightheadedness, Nausea And Heart Palpitations?
I have been feeling very odd. Every now and then I start feeling very light headed, and nauseous. Also, heart palpitations. It will last for two or three days and then stop. But occur about a month or so later. I don t understand why this is happenings and it scares me.
You might have either an abnormality of heart rhythm; or, panic reactions.
Get an ECG and 24 hours' Holter monitoring to see if there is an abnormality of heart rhythm and, its nature. Depending on the findings, your doctor will prescribe appropriate treatment.
If, on the other hand, you are passing through great mental stress and anxiety, a regular course of mood stabilizing drug will improve your problem all together.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, order required tests, and- based on the reports- will prescribe suitable/modified treatment as advised.
If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.
Take care
