What Are The Reasons For Skipping Small Words While Reading?

I am a 20 year old male. Lately I have been encountering a reading problem that has progressively been getting worse (more recurrent) over the past couple of days. What s happening is that while reading I will skip over words to the point that it is altering the meaning of sentences. I m sure that everyone has this happen to them every now and then as it generically has for me, but the issue is that now its happening on almost every sentence. The onset has been very sudden, I first started noticing it happen a couple of days ago and today I can t seem to read anything fluidly. This doesn t occur if I read aloud, only while reading silently. I m wondering if this is something that I need to see a doctor about or if I m just self perpetuating the symptom?
