What Are The Reasons Of Absence Of Tonsils In Throat?

My wife had me look at her throat and said she thought she might have tonsilitis. When looking in her throat I cannot see her tonsils. I asked her if she had them removed when she was young and she said no that she was told she had inverted tonsils?

Oh, There is nothing called as inverted tonsils .
With the advancing age the tonsil tissue ( lymphoid in nature ) has a tendency of regression. They become small enough to to be easily seen under the pillars.
This is good . AND there are other reasons too for pain in throat.
