I have noticed, during the past three months, that I have suffered ear ache and a 'blocked' feeling in my left ear for a few days before and during my period.
Can the two things be connected?

Hi,
There are several causes for ear ache with sensation of fullness/blockadge in the ears. Accumulated wax being one of the most commonest.
In my opinion the symptoms you are experincing are not truly connected to your periods.
I suggest that you meet an ENT doctor and follow his/her advice.
