What Are The Repercussions Of Taking Ibuprofen And Diclofenac Together?

i am suffering from a pain in my back ( rib out ? ) and was trying to get some relief! i took 600 mg ibuprofrin and it didn;t help... don t have any opiods but did have some diclofinac and took one of those then i read where that was really dumb because i took the ibuprofrin 1/2 hr earlyer... should i go barf? i feel fine other than my back hurts... age 62 - no prior heart episodes

Hi,

Noted your history of taking IBuprofen 600 mg followed by Diclofenac as the back pain is severe and Ibuprofen did not help you.
It is true that taking such two medications with the same effects has no better role and on the contrary can cause gastritis and ulcer.
Anyways, nothing to work.
Take a PPI like Omeprazole immediately.
Take antacids immediately.
Take either of the medications.Consult your Doctor for back ache. Go for investigations like MRI of the back if advised so.Tests of blood.
Once the diagnosis is clear then the treatment is specific and effective.
