Hallow Sonali,
The risk during
pregnancy after removal of fibroid(s) depend up on:
1. The number of fibroids present and removed,
2. The depth of incision on the uterine wall, if taken,
3. Your age.
If the fibroid was hanging outside the uterine walls, and was removed by just clamping and separating, there is no risk during pregnancy or delivery. Even there is very small risk of bleeding during the surgery of such tumours.
However, if the tumours are within the walls of the
uterus and the wall is incised, then there is a risk of the incision on the uterine wall giving way during pregnancy or delivery. Deeper the incision, higher is the risk. Hence, ultrasonographic monitoring throughout the pregnancy becomes mandatory. You also have to be watchful for any pain over the uterine are and report it immediately to the Obstetrician. Usually, we prefer to deliver the baby by
caesarean section in such cases once the baby is sufficiently matured. This minimises the
stress on the uterine scar during the labour pains, which otherwise may threaten to rupture.
Surgery for removal of fibroid(s) is a major surgery and may cause considerable amount of bleeding. Hence you will have to keep few bottles of blood ready during surgery.
As far as the expenditure of the surgery is concerned in a particular hospital, you will have to enquire with them only. However, I can definitely inform you that the charges vary according to the type of room you opt for.
