Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
HSV 1 (Herpes type 1) is not a STD. It is nothing but cold sore. Anybody can have cold sores. It could happen even during our childhood. HSV 1 can rarely be transmitted to genitals during oral sex. If the individual has recurrence of these cold sores quite often, then only that risk exists. Otherwise no problem at all. Even during recurrence if you avoid kissing and oral sex with your girl friend, you would unlikely to get this infection.
So this is no longer a problem for your relationship.
