What Are The Risks With Low Blood Pressure?

For the past 3 weeks my husband has been experiencing extra low blood pressure (e.g. 73/48, 88/67 and this am 72/28.) The highest reading for the last week was 112/64 with most of the other readings in the 90s. The past two days the lower reading keeps dropping. For the past 1-1/2 mos. he has had some problem with diarreah(sp). He has been both to the ER and to his doctor. They told him he was dehydrated and advised to drink lots of Gatorade. He had congestive heart failure in 1998, but the heart doctor has been pleased with his recovery and his EF is now almost normal. He does take various heart medicines and only occasionally(like once a year) had trouble with low blood pressure. He is scheduled for his semi-annual visit to the heart doctor the end of this month. My question is: Other than the risk of fainting and falling, what other risks could be involved with this low blood pressure problem? He is 74 years old, 6'1" 145lb

HI THANKS FOR YOUR QUERY.FIRST LET ME CLARIFY TO YOU THAT YOUR HUSBAND IS RECEIVING THE PERFECT TREATMENT FOR HIS HEART AILMENTS.AND ALL THE FOLLOW UP PROCESS IS UP TO DATE.THE LOW BLOOD PRESSURE IN THIS CASE COULD BE DUE TO COMBINATION OF CAUSES LIKE DIARRHOEA ,WHICH CAUSE FLUID LOSS AND OVERTREATMENT WITH ANTIHYPERTENSIVE MEDICINES.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO REVIEW HIS BP MEDICINES AND ADVICE TO USE THE LOWEST POSSIBLE DRUG DOSE THAT CAN CONTROL HIS BP TO NORMALCY.HYPOTENSION CAN CARRY RISKS OF FAINTING SPELLS,FRACTURES OF BONES ,BRAIN STROKE,HEART ATTACKS.HEART FAILURES,DIGESTION PROBLEMS,LOW URINE OUTPUT,ETC.I SUGGEST YOU MONITOR HIS BP ON REGULAR BASIS AND AVOID LOW BP.CONSULT YOUR CARDIOLOGIST .THANK YOU
