Xanax (alprazolam) belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines.Xanax is used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and anxiety caused by depression.Do not drink alcohol while taking Xanax as this medication can increase the effects of alcohol. Xanax is a habit-forming drug.
side-effects -depressed mood, thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself,confusion, hyperactivity, agitation, hostility, hallucinations,chest pain, pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest etc
it is generally not available over the counter drugs.it is sold only on written presciption.
Overdose symptoms include extreme drowsiness, confusion, muscle weakness, loss of balance or coordination, feeling light-headed, and fainting.
