What Are The Side Effects Of Atenolol?

i have had firt dose of atenolol today but was off all blood presssure medicine for two months or so. I have for about 8 months hadsevere lightheadedness and fatigue and he discontinued all medication but today BP was 178/87 so he started Atenoll. But i see from the info from pharmacy that this medication can cause severe dizziness and lightheadedness. Should I stop it/ Thaks

I have gone through your query and I can understand your concern.

According to your clinical history you have very high blood pressure and it should be brought under control.Atenelol is a very good antihypertensive drug to start with.Aten is a relatively safe drug and there is no serious adverse effects.
Dizziness and lightheadedness has reported when atenelol has taken in large dose as in suicide purpose.
There is no need to stop this medicine and you should stick to your BP pills
