What Are The Side Effects Of Betnovate Cream ?

I have been using Betnovate cream for application on my eyelids whenever there is swelling caused after I apply glue products over a long duration to create double eyelids. However, I recently realized that Betnovate cream is not supposed to be applied around the eye area. Why is this so? Can I continue applying this cream? I have tried a few other cream products but they are not strong enough to ease the itching and swelling, yet I do not wish to stop using the double eyelid glue because I have already suceesfully created double eylid for one eye and I do not wish to forsake the other.
