please tell me about the anti depressant bupropion, my doctor is going to put me on this maybe but wanted me to research it also, I have gotten real depressed I am 69 yrs old and have a bad back, have knee pain & I have gained up to 154lb and it really makes things worse because of the weight I have put on, someone told me to research this drug it helped the depression plus would help in loosing weight. My question is will it do this, and what are the side effects? what do u think?
This are the side effects of Bupropion, they are the samefor adult and eldery persons. My patients presents the following side-effects:
dry mouth, nausea, stomach pain; headache, dizziness, ringing in your ears; vision changes; loss of interest in sex; sore throat, muscle pain; mild itching or skin rash, increased sweating, increased urination; or. changes in appetite, weight loss or gain.
My experience suggests that most side effects are generally mild or transient and can be managed using simple measures such as increasing intake of fruits or fiber, lower initial dose, or dose reduction.
Hope it helps,
Dr. Oscar Martinez
