What Are The Side Effects Of Citalopram?

I take citalopram and I seem to notice a singing in my mind! Also it seems like I hear everything I say repeatedly said in my mind also! Would this be a side effect of this medication? It starts in the morning when I wake up and it s still there when I go to sleep! It annoys me.

Hi,

Citalopram is newer anxiolytic drug. It is very safe and having very few side effects. So I don't think your symptoms are due to side effect of Citalopram.

Your symptoms are more suggestive of auditory hallucinations or brain claudication. And both these are seen commonly with psychosis. So in my opinion, you should consult your psychiatrist and discuss this new symptom.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
