What Are The Side Effects Of Cortisone Injection?

Had a cortisone injection in thumb joint one week ago Friday and starting itching relentlessly (eyes, scalp, arms, legs, trunk and scratched until bruised). That has subsided but now I have cramping and most menopause bleeding. Also, around the site of injection my skin has a large are that is dark purple-beyond bruising.
