What Are The Side Effects Of Cortisone Injections?

I have had a few cortisone injections in my life. I always end up gaining weight. I think it's water weight, plus I have an increased appetite. I had the last one in my shoulder about 3 weeks ago and put on 7 pounds since. How long before it wears off?
