What Are The Side Effects Of Cyclobenzaprine?

Yes, thank you. I was just prescribed Cyclobenzaprine 10 mg for neck pain. I am receiving Physical Therapy which seems to help. Both massage and stretching the neck (traction). What are the side effects which would most likely happen with use of the drug. I am not much of a drug user. I have had an x-ray which shows arthritis and bone spurs. No MRI or other at this time. Hello,

I appreciate your foresight. Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant. The following are its common side effects:
1) Drowsiness
2) Dryness of mouth
3) Very less common are fatigue, head ache, palpitations.

So, after administration of this drug, you are advised not to do such activities which require utmost concentration like driving. It's better to take it once daily at night before sleep.

Apart from this, it's a safe drug and relieves spasm and thus pain. Most important is neck muscle strengthening exercises (those trained by your physical therapist).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi.m
