What Are The Side Effects Of Cyclosporine?

I am considering on my Drs suggestion..taking cyclosporin for Interstital Cystitis. This is a last resort treatment for me. Are there any studies done that would discuss the chance of getting serious diseases..like cancer..during Cyclosporin treatment?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The cyclosporine is not well known for causing any cancer. It can lead gastritis like common side effects.

It can affect kidney as well so serum urea, creatinine and egfr need to be monitored during treatment.

Blood pressure also should be checked regularly as it can lead hypertension as side effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
