What Are The Side Effects Of Fosamax?

What are the side effects since I am already on Miraplex for restless legs and Tramadol. The bone density from Hershey showed my bones are worse than last year so the Dr. suggested the name brand in Fosamax not the generic. What are the side effects to worry about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Some of the side effects of Fosamax can be:

jaw pain, swelling of joints/hands/ankles/feet, increased or severe bone or muscle pain, new or unusual hip/thigh/groin pain, black or tarry stools, vomit that looks like coffee grounds.

If you have these side effects you should consult your doctor about an alternative medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
