What Are The Side Effects Of Fosamax?

I am going off forteo after 17 months, was effective at first changed my spine from osteopenia to normal in first bone density. Now last bone density shows no effect as tho I have not been taking it. Internest Dr. has taken me off for a month, am going this week to have to add some type of fosamax. Evista is taken by my cousin with good results and no side effects. Do you feel it is effective, how about the generic, any advice on whether to take daily, weekly, or monthly or the two shots available. Previous discussion with dr. said all are about the same. Thanks
