I am going off forteo after 17 months, was effective at first changed my spine from osteopenia to normal in first bone density. Now last bone density shows no effect as tho I have not been taking it. Internest Dr. has taken me off for a month, am going this week to have to add some type of fosamax. Evista is taken by my cousin with good results and no side effects. Do you feel it is effective, how about the generic, any advice on whether to take daily, weekly, or monthly or the two shots available. Previous discussion with dr. said all are about the same. Thanks
Fosamax is composed of 'Alendronic acid', which is a bisphosphonate drug used for osteoporosis, osteogenesis imperfecta, and several other bone diseases. Side effects which may occur with its intake include: Generalized muscle, joint, and bone pain, Gastric and duodenal ulceration, eye problems such as uveitis and Osteonecrosis of the jaw. Kindly take the medication as prescribed and do the necessary follow-up as advised by your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
