Hi,
I-pill or the emergency pill contains excess hormone and as a result, creates side effects related to this hormone excess. You can see some withdrawal bleeding soon after the pill intake and the next natural period may get delayed by a week or two. Pregnancy is usually avoided by the pill in the following ways-it can prevent ovulation when taken before ovulation, it can prevent sperm ascent if ovulation has occurred by making the cervical mucus hostile and it can block implantation if fertilization has occurred by making the endometrium unfriendly. Protection is almost complete since you have taken the pill soon after. Hope this helps.
