What Are The Side Effects Of Lipitor?

I am so concerned with a Dr. wanting to put me on Lipitor. I don't do well with meds and have done alot of research not liking what I read about Cholesterol lowering meds. God gave me one liver and I don't want to destroy it or stop it's function. It's there for a reason. I just had test done and the print-out I got from my Dr. says my total LDL is 213mg/dl-HDL57mg/dland Triglycerides 128mg/dl then an VLDL (?) 26mg/dl. Can you give me some advice please. My father had open heart surgery, mom had it because of an aneurism, and older brother had a stint put in. I'm a 57 yr. old healthy woman. Weigh 140 and exercise almost daily, and watch what I eat. No meds at all other thatn Q-10.
