What Are The Side Effects Of Reclast Infusion?

My Doctor wants me to get Reclasp infusions my bone dinisty is -3.25 what do you think of this medicine I am worried about the side effects especially the jaw bone. I did prolix for a year then was scared off when my sister did take prolia and got a sore on her jaw bone. The doctor took her off of it. Very confused. Thank You

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In context of the density score you mentioned, you definitely need bisphosphonates for your osteoporosis (reclasp is one of the bisphosphonates )and i personally think you should go for it. As you said about the side effects , the osteonecrosis of the jaw bone , that is very rare with these drugs, and mostly occur in people who have diseased jaws,it is very uncommon in normal people, as i have never witnessed though have given to a lot of people. So I would advise you should go for it , though there is slightest risk of the same, but the benefits here clearly outweighing the risk. Other side effects that are more common are flue like symptoms, like body aches , nausea , malaise, , low calcium , they are temporary.
