What Are The Side Effects Of Toprol XL?

My son is 32yrs never smoked, healthy, takes no meds at all, started with palpitations 1wk ago. Went to cardiologist today & was diagnosed with SVT, placed on Toprol XL he,s flying from Fl. To LA due to work should he start the toprol or wait till he gets back I,m afraid for him starting a med with serious side effects and being so far away from home. Having blood work in AM CBC,Chemistry, Thyroid, and an echo of heart.

Some of the side effects of Toprol are dizziness, tired feeling, depression, confusion, memory problems, trouble sleeping, diarrhea, mild itching or rash.
