Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My boyfriend has diabetes & was doing Ok on his Novolog. His Dr said he should try Tresiba; he took it today & when I called him @ 6:50 pm he was out of it/Said he had been sleeping for 5 hrs. But he was not coherent & it took me 3 calls to get him up! Now, he takes lots of meds/blood pr, cholesteral, digitalis & more! So I was just trying to find out if any contradictions to using this? He is 78. Im, Gail/My email is YYYY@YYYY
Hello I just read your query and from what you have mentioned it appears that your boyfriend is taking tresiba that is a long acting insulin. If he wasn't coherent or the same problem occurs again try checking his blood sugar. Probably he just had an hypoglycemic episode and needs to lower his dose of tresiba. No there aren't any problems with tresiba. Hope you find my advice of some benefit.Good luck.
