What Are The Side Effects Of Vasograin Tablets?

Hi doc, I am a 30 yr old male, suffering from migraine for the last 15 years. Now a days, I usually take Vasograin when I feel the pain. The frequency is around 5 times a month. What might be the side effects? What else can I do for it? What other medicine can I take?

Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The Vasograin is one of the most effective drug for migraine pain attack. As you are taking it 5 times per month, you must be aware of its side effects.

Vasograin can cause many side effects. The most commonly reported side-effects of Vasograin Tablet are

weakness,
swollen facial features,
feeling of sickness,
skin reddening,
allergic reactions, and shortness of breath

Less common serious side effects are

- Liver Damage
- Nausea
- Acute Renal Tubular Necrosis
- Blood Dyscrasias
- neurological effects - Restlessness, Tremors
- Abdominal Pain
- Fits
- Irregular Heartbeats, Increased Heart Rate, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Orthostatic Hypotension
- Leukopenia, Thrombocytopenia
- Constipation
- Galactorrhoea, Gynaecomastia
- Numbness Of Gum, Tongue
- Loose Motion
- Bluish Coloration Of Skin Due To Reduced Blood Supply

You must not self-medicate yourself. Always take this medication after discussing it with your doctor. If you find any of above side effects in you, report to your doctor immediately. And if pain is not that much severe, you should take medication like

- Diclofenac
- Tramadol
- narcotic analgesics (e.g., oxycodone, morphine sulfate)
- Combination of diclofenac and paracetamol
- Combination of tramadol and paracetamol
- Diclofenac patch

You can take any of above medication after proper prescription. These mediations have better safety profile. Also you can opt for other safer methods like acupressure, physiotherapy, meditation.

Hope it will help. If still in doubt, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care.
