Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
1.
Verapamil is a
calcium channel blocker medicine. This effect will help dilatation blood vessels around the heart, improving the circulation and oxygenation of the heart muscle to maintain proper
heart rate.
Some of its side effects include:
- Dizziness
- Tiredness
- Slow heart rate
- Swelling of the ankle and foot
- Shortness of breathe
- Abnormal weight gain
Losartan is an
angiotensin receptor blocker causing dilatation of the blood vessels in the body with reduced blood pressure (BP) as final.
2. The use of verapamil could have caused swollen foot and ankle. However, as this swelling is located only on the right foot, angiologist to consult further to rule out blockage of local blood vessels.
3. The BP reading on the right arm is sometimes normally happening to be a slightly higher than on left arm. However, this is not a significant change. So, I would advise getting further Doppler
ultrasound of blood vessels to rule out possible blockage or narrowing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Albana Sejdini
