What Are The Side Effects Of Wellbutrin?

Hi, My 18 year old daughter was recently prescribed Wellbutrin for depression. She has never been any psychotropic meds before. I am concerned about the side effects, long term effects and whether she could start on a milder medication. It was prescribed after the very first session with a psychiatrist, even after I expressed concerns about medicaitons being the instant go to solution. Is Wellbutrin approved by the FDA and are their concerns from the medical community?
