What Are The Side Effects Of A Depo Shot?

Hello, I have a question. I'm 18 and i have recently started the Depo shot and everything was great until i started my period. It's lasted 13 days so far and it's the most unusual thing for me. Is this normal? Can i stop it? please let me know. thank you.
