Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
i pill is an
emergency contraceptive pill. It needs to be taken within 72 hours of
unprotected intercourse. The pill would prevent
pregnancy by causing
breakthrough bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake.
Common side effects of such contraceptive pill include: inter-menstrual spotting, nausea, breast tenderness, headache, weight gain, mood changes, decreased libido and
vaginal discharge. Failure rate of such pills is about 10%.
Although pregnancy with pre-ejaculatory fluid is less, there are chances of pregnancy as it may contain sufficient quantity of active and motile sperms.
If you conceive by any chance by this episode, the only way left is to undergo abortion within 10 weeks by using pills under strict medical supervision.
If you get your periods normally as per the schedule, then there is no need to worry about pregnancy. Kindly use proper protection next time onward when you indulge in sexual activities.
Kindly seek medical attention promptly if there is delay in getting periods of more than 10 days after taking a urine pregnancy test.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
