What Are The Side Effects Of Antihistamines And Flonase On Long Term Usage?

My 7 year old granddaughter is stuffy all the time and is a mouth breather. Her mother gives her an antihistimine and Flonase every night. I m worried about the long term side effects of the meds. She has many many stuffed animal in the bedroom and sleep with several every night. Also her room is so cluttered that I m sure it is seldom if ever dusted. I have suggested to them that they clean the room thoroughtly and get rid of the dust mite bearing stufffed animals just to see if their is any improvement. But so far nothing. They d rather over medicate that do something to prevent. Worried!
